Founding of the Blue Career Centre for the Eastern Mediterranean

The Blue Career Center for the Eastern Mediterranean was founded on the initiative of Ecorys (Brussels) on behalf of the European Commission to contribute to the creation of sustainable development and jobs in the eastern Mediterranean region within the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Maritime Policy and Fisheries.

Sponsor of the Xinis Educational Festival 2016

The Institute of International Nautical Studies sponsors the organization of the Xinis Education Festival 2016, an educational institution with more than 140 free seminars to be held from March to June 2016 in Athens, Piraeus, Glyfada and Thessaloniki.

On March 29, 2016 at 18:00, a lecture on “Marine Diversity Management – Management of Multiculturalism in Shipping” by Prof. Isidoros Pachoudakis will take place at the Xinis Group in Piraeus (39, Philonos Street).

General session of the Hellenic Yacht Crew Association (HYCA)

On March 2nd 2016, the Hellenic Yacht Crew Association announced the commenced of a broad collaboration with Instructors I.Pachoundakis and S.Spyrou in the training and certification of the Officers and members of the Association. The General Session of HYCA was held at the Yacht Club of Greece with the participation of the Association Board of Directors and representatives of the Institute.

Certification on “Instruments Measurement Inspection/Calibration”

For a second time, the Shipping Company Aegean Shipping Management S.A. offered a training session on “Confined Space Entry – Gas Instruments Measurement Inspection/Calibration” for a number of its executives and the participants were certified by the Institute of International Nautical Studies.

Trainers

Isidoros Pachoundakis is the Academic Coordinator of Maritime Studies KEDIBIM University of Patras, as well as the Academic Coordinator and Lecturer in the e-Learning Program of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens titled “Administration and Management of Multicultural Plans in Commercial Shipping”. He is also the Academic Coordinator of the Maritime e-Learning Programs of the Economics Department of the University of Piraeus since 2015. He has served for 10 years as Professor of Higher and First Class Masters at the Merchant Marine Training Center (KESEN).

Stratos Spyrou studied Shipping Science at Piraeus University and continued his studies at Harvard University, USA. He is the Academic Coordinator of the e-Learning Shipping Programs of the University of Piraeus (Department of Economics) and the further learning shipping programs of the University of Patras and the University of Macedonia. He has served as Professor of Higher Education for First and Second Class Masters at the Merchant Marine Training Center (KESEN), in the a field of Ship Management, and has collaborated with major Shipping Companies to provide counseling and training.

Dimitris Vassilopoulos is Master of the Merchant Navy with a long professional experience in cargo and passenger ships. During the past 6 years he has been working as a Professor at the Academy of Merchant Marine (AEN) of Macedonia, and he is also an e-learning lecturer at the Department of Economics at the University of Piraeus. Finally, he runs LogBook.gr, one of the largest shipping portal in Greece

Michalis Orfanos is the Master of the Merchant Marine and an distance learning instructor at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and the University of Piraeus.

Christina Poulopoulou is a graduate of the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology (Department of Psychology) of the University of Athens, specialized in Counseling Psychology and Special Education and holds a Master’s degree in “Promoting Mental Health” from the Medical School of the University of Athens . Today he teaches in e-Learning programs at the University of Piraeus. He has taught to people with special needs at PIKPA Voula and Psychology in a large private educational group, where he has been in charge of the Pedagogical and Special Education sector for three years.
