On September 3rd and 4th 2018, a two-day seminar on “Marine Diversity Management – MDM” was organized by Thalpis Maritime Services Ltd. at its premises in Athens, Greece. The issues of managing diversity in the workplace and the influence of South-East Asian identity amongst crew members of a merchant ship were analyzed. Role-playing workshops were utilized for the management of diversity, aiming at optimizing the efficiency of the crew.
For a second time, the Shipping Company Aegean Shipping Management S.A. offered a training session on “Confined Space Entry – Gas Instruments Measurement Inspection/Calibration” for a number of its executives and the participants were certified by the Institute of International Nautical Studies.
On December 15, 2015, a training course on the “Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)” took place at the premises of the Phoenix Register of Shipping SA. in Piraeus. Its executives were trained on the procedures, equipment and communication protocols used for ship safety and rescue at sea.

On October 27-29th 2015 Optimum Ship Services Ltd. of Scorpio Group organised a 3-day corporate conference at the capital of the Philippines.
